Kelly Simmons Becker

Kelly joined the CSLL team in January 2006 after graduating from North Carolina Central University with a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders. Her background includes a B.A. in Psychology and History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and over 7 years experience working with children with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings. For the past year and a half, Kelly has worked full-time as a speech-pathologist for the Alamance-Burlington School System. Prior to working in the public schools, she worked full time as a pediatric speech therapist with the CSLL, providing speech and language intervention to families and children of all ages, and currently works part-time with the Center. Her greatest area of interest is childhood language disorders in special populations such as Down Syndrome and autism spectrum disorders. Kelly enjoys working with children with multiple disabilities and with their families to develop and facilitate a plan for communication success for these individuals.
